KOTOBA — 言葉

A word is a seed. Placed in breath, it takes root in the body.

Kotoba: — the act of giving voice. — the leaf that unfolds, carries light, and returns to the earth.

Each word grows. It emerges from silence, shaped by intention, carried by air. A word connects. It aligns bodies, clarifies direction, opens space. In Junomichi, kotoba guides movement. It sets the rhythm, gives form to action, and unifies what moves.

To speak is to engage the whole being. Voice, breath, posture, attention—one single act. Kotoba is living expression. A movement made audible.

Why Are Junomichi Techniques Password-Protected?

In Junomichi, what you see is not what you feel. The essence of the practice—Hara mobility—is invisible to the eye. Simply watching videos can lead to imitation without comprehension without this fundamental understanding.

Dr. Jigoro Kano’s Judo was not just about techniques but about a deeper philosophy of movement, balance, and non-opposition. However, modern sports Judo has lost this essence, with practitioners reproducing techniques without truly understanding Kano’s original vision.

Junomichi, the Real Judo, exists to preserve and explore this depth. It is practised without championships, focusing instead on studying and researching Hara mobility.

For this reason, we do not make our technique videos openly available. We want to ensure that those who access them do so with a sincere commitment to learning, rather than attempting to replicate movements without the necessary foundation.

If you are interested in accessing these materials, we invite you to send us an email at contact@junomichi-scotland.org and explain your motivations why you want to see the videos.
